Physiotherapists refer patients to Dr Hughes with pains and problems that are better treated by a rheumatologist.
These are often problems that are not going to require surgery and that physiotherapy has not been able to solve. These can be more generalised pain; lethargy, aches and pains, weakness and issues that are interfering with their everyday lives.
Sally Critien runs Synergy Physiotherapy in Surrey. She regularly refers patients to Dr Hughes because he has a very broad understanding of medicine and can succeed where other forms of treatment cannot produce a positive result.
Dr Hughes has the ability to deal with the psychology of chronic pain and the feedback she gets from referred patients is “amazing. He is much more caring than most doctors”.
